Year 6 Timetable

In Year 6 students receive regular core subject learning.

  • English incorporates reading lessons, writing lessons and lessons from the Read, Write, Inc. spelling scheme.  This ensures that students confidently know and can apply the various year 6 spelling rules and patterns.

  • Regular Maths lessons focus on a particular element of Maths alongside Maths meetings where different concepts are included in order to embed White Rose  scheme of work as a starting point for their planning.

  • The Year 6 Science programme of study is taught throughout the year in line with the national curriculum to cover learning on living things and their habitats, animals including humans, evolution and inheritance, light and electricity.

The foundation subjects are also taught regularly throughout the week and include computing, geography, history, art and design, design and technology (DT), physical education (PE), religious education (RE), personal, social, health and economic education (PSHE) including relationships education, languages (German) and music.  Please refer to the Subject Intent and Implementation pages for further information about the content of each subject and what is taught when.
