An important part of our commitment to keeping our pupils safe is sharing information with other organisations who work with and support children and families in Hillingdon such as the Hillingdon Multi-agency Safeguarding Hub (MASH), the Metropolitan Police and other agencies that form the Hillingdon Safeguarding Children Partnership. The school has also signed up to receive alerts from the Metropolitan Police through Operation Encompass: this system enables the police to notify the school when a pupil has been exposed to domestic abuse. The DSLs can then use the information that has been shared, in confidence, to ensure the wellbeing of the child or make provisions or adjustments to assist the child and their family. Please see the letter previously sent to parents (below) for more information.
Our students are increasingly spending more time online, both in school and at home, to enhance their learning. To help keep children safe when they are online, the school has a statutory duty to monitor the activity of anyone using school-owned devices to access the digital environment with the aim of providing visibility to safeguarding risks which may otherwise go under the radar. Following a review of various software monitoring options, the Elliot Foundation Academies Trust have instructed eSafe to conduct this monitoring for all Trust academies. eSafe monitors both school and home devices which are logged into a school owned email account. Please see below for a letter sent to parents introducing eSafe in September 2020: the letter contains a presentation explaining more about what eSafe does and how it works.
