Initial Teacher Training - Partner Schools

We are proud to announce that Hillingdon Primary School is partnering with Hillingdon SCITT, an outstanding initial teacher training provider,  to become a Lead School, coordinating school based initial teacher training in the Hillingdon area.  We are looking for partner schools to join us in our new venture; training good and outstanding teachers who are aspirational, resilient and reflective and who demonstrate excellent professional expertise.

We involve our partnership schools from the beginning, so if you decide to join us you will be involved at the interview stage and get to meet the graduates who may be hosted in your school. Many schools already have talented graduates working as Teaching Assistants and the School Direct route is an ideal opportunity to 'grow your own' future teachers and leaders.   There are a number of benefits of getting involved in initial teacher training for your school, including but not limited to:

  • Recruitment: the programme allows you to 'grow your own' quality teachers, reducing the need for expensive and time consuming recruitment campaigns;

  • Retention: mentoring a trainee provides excellent CPD opportunities for aspiring / new leaders;

  • Customised training:  you can customise the training to suit the needs of your school and trainee; and

  • Promoting your school's ethos: you can develop staff within your school’s unique culture and ethos from day one.

If you are interested in finding out more, please get in touch with our ITT administrator, Louise Daniel, at  Hillingdon Primary has been a partner school to Bishop Ramsey Lead School for a number of years, and we would be more than happy to share our positive experiences with you through a no-obligation chat / email discussion.
