Introduction

At Hillingdon Primary School we are committed to ensuring that the whole school community, regardless of any medical conditions or allergies, can enjoy school life to their full potential and play an active role whilst remaining safe and healthy.

Pupils who have a medical condition or allergy are given the support they need to fully access the entire education offer, including participating in extra-curricular activities or trips and supporting their physical and emotional needs.

Benedict’s Law

In February 2026, the Government formally passed Benedict’s Law, committing to introduce mandatory, statutory allergy guidance for schools in England. Statutory Allergy Safety Guidance for Schools was published by the Department for Education in July 2026 and this guidance has provided a foundation for us to strengthen our existing allergy management practice and procedures.

• Provides a framework to ensure the necessary training, resources, and support are available to enable staff to manage conditions confidently; and

Allergy Lead

Ms Sabrina Kelly (Co-Principal) is the school’s Allergy Lead. She is supported by our Deputy Allergy Lead, Mrs Susan Childs (Welfare and Attendance Officer).

It’s important that we are made aware of any allergies and / or medical conditions that may affect pupils, staff and visitors to our site.
